These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the RecipeSavr mobile applications, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who We Are
– RecipeSavr (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides tools to save, organize, and share recipes; import recipes from the web or photos; plan meals; set notifications; and sync data across devices.

2. Eligibility and Accounts
– You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent/guardian’s consent.
– Some features require an account (e.g., cloud sync). You agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. The Service; No Medical/Nutritional Advice
– The Service helps you collect, store, and manage recipes. It may parse third‑party pages and images to extract recipe data.
– The Service is provided for general informational and organizational purposes only. We do not provide professional nutritional, medical, or dietary advice or guarantees. Always verify ingredients, allergens, and instructions before use.
4. User Content and License
– You retain ownership of content you submit, upload, or import to the Service (“User Content”).
– You grant us a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to host, store, process, display, and transmit User Content solely to operate, improve, and provide the Service (including generating thumbnails, parsing data, and enabling sharing you initiate).
– You represent that you have all rights necessary to submit User Content and that your User Content does not infringe any third‑party rights or laws.
5. Recipe Importing, Parsing, and Third‑Party Sites
– The Service may extract data from third‑party websites (e.g., via URL import, JSON‑LD, microdata, HTML heuristics) or from your photos using OCR. Parsing is best‑effort and may be inaccurate or incomplete.
– You are responsible for ensuring your use of imported content complies with applicable law and any third‑party terms. Respect copyright and fair‑use limitations, and do not redistribute or commercialize others’ content without permission.
– The Service may display links to third‑party sites. We are not responsible for third‑party content or practices; use them at your own risk.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
– Violate any laws or third‑party rights (including IP rights and privacy rights).
– Upload illegal, harmful, defamatory, or deceptive content.
– Attempt to scrape, crawl, or reverse‑engineer the Service; bypass access controls; or overload/interfere with the Service.
– Use the Service to develop competing datasets or services.
7. Subscriptions, Fees, and Trials (If Applicable)
– Certain features may be offered via paid subscriptions or in‑app purchases processed by Apple. Pricing, billing frequency, and terms will be shown in‑app at purchase.
– Trials, promos, or introductory prices may change or end at our discretion subject to applicable law. Local taxes may apply.
– Cancellation and refunds follow Apple’s policies. Manage subscriptions via your Apple ID settings.
8. Data Sync and Storage
– The app may store data locally (e.g., Apple SwiftData) and sync with cloud services (e.g., Google Firebase) when signed in.
– Sync is best‑effort; conflicts, delays, or data loss can occur. Maintain your own backups of important data.
9. Privacy

10. Notifications
– You may enable reminders/notifications. Delivery is not guaranteed and may depend on device settings, OS behavior, and network conditions. You can change notification preferences in the app or your device settings.
11. Intellectual Property
– The Service (including software, UI, trademarks, and content we provide) is owned by us and our licensors and is protected by IP laws. Except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service.
12. Feedback
– If you submit feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty‑free license to use them without restriction or compensation.
13. Disclaimers
– THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR‑FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
14. Limitation of Liability
– TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND PARTNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
– OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID (IF ANY) FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR US$50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
– SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN SUCH CASES, SOME LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
15. Indemnification
– You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RecipeSavr and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable laws.
16. Suspension and Termination
– We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, present a security risk, or cause harm. You may stop using the Service at any time.
17. Changes to the Service and Terms
– We may modify or discontinue the Service (in whole or part) at any time.
– We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with an updated “Effective date.” Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective signifies acceptance of the new Terms.
18. International Users
– We operate globally. We do not represent that the Service is appropriate or available in all locations. You are responsible for compliance with local laws.
– If you are in the UK/EEA, nothing in these Terms overrides your mandatory consumer rights under local law.
19. Export Controls
– You agree to comply with applicable export control and sanctions laws when using the Service. You may not use the Service if you are subject to embargoes or on restricted party lists under applicable law.
20. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
– These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict‑of‑law principles. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that requires local law to apply, your local mandatory laws will apply to the extent required.
– Any disputes shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, USA, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue, except where local law requires otherwise.
– If permitted by law, disputes will be resolved on an individual basis and not as a class action or collective proceeding.
21. Miscellaneous
– If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
– You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, or by operation of law.
– These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and RecipeSavr regarding the Service and supersede prior agreements regarding the Service.
